"HPUS" is the Homeopathic Pharmacopœia of the United States.

Inactive Ingredients (Original):

Children 2 years to under 6 years: 5 mL at bedtime and every 4 hours during the night until relieved.

Children 6 years to under 12 years: 10 mL at bedtime and every 4 hours during the night until relieved. 

Adults and children 12 years and over: 15 mL at bedtime and every 4 hours during the night until relieved.

Warnings: Sore throat warning: If sore throat is severe, persists for more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by fever, headache, rash, nausea, or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly. Ask a doctor before use if you have: persistent or chronic cough such as smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. cough that is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus). Stop use and ask a doctor if: symptoms persist for more than 7 days or worsen. inflammation, fever or infection is present or develops. cough tends to recur or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache.

Keep out of reach of children.

Causes Hyperactivity and Night Terrors

"My son liked the taste however it didn’t help his cough and he became very hyperactive and had night terrors, unfortunately I didn’t realize what was causing it until I gave him a second dose. He’s talking in his sleep, thrashing, scratching his hair, body and eyes. DO NOT recommend."

Not good enough for cough

"Seems to calm for sleep but cough wise, no help at all. The flavor is good, but we’re almost through the bottles of both day and night (2kids) and no real relief from this medication. Will try Zarbees."

No Melatonin!!!

"Kiddo has terrible cough and pediatrician recommended another OTC medication which I originally bought trusting the doctor. Kiddo hasn’t sleep sleeping well even though the coughing was ok with the other med. Not sure why I grabbed the bottle and started reading and paused. The key ingredient to help child sleep is melatonin which my son doesn’t respond well to! Annoyed I started doing research. I’d used Hyland for medios for a terrible infection years ago and decided to check what they had for kids. I’m so glad I did. Found the Cold and Cough nighttime that uses Chamomile as sleep aid! Kiddo slept, cough is under control which stopped the vomiting. I’ll never again look at another brand! Only negative is the labels are clear - night and day looo way too much alike."

Works for some kids, and doesn’t work for some

"This product did not help my daughters cough at all, which is very disappointing considering all the good reviews I read before buying it. She’s still coughing really bad and it’s been 30 minutes since I’ve given it to her. I’ve come to the conclusion that it works on some kids and for others it does not work at all. Many regrets buying this product. Never again"

"Where to start...it was Thanksgiving weekend and my 2.5 year old son started experiencing a cough, a runny nose, and a low-grade fever which persisted over the next six days. At his worst, he couldn’t sleep, kept coughing all night, screamed, “mommy help me!”, and in the morning he looked like a zombie from not being able to sleep. After days of Vick’s rub, saline drops, and a humidifier,I didn’t see any relief and started feeling desperate. I wanted to call the advice nurse but all she/he would say r things I’d already been doing...I then thought, there has to be something other the counter...I started googling and found this gem from Hylands. I gave it to my son and it did not disappoint!!! My son calmed down, he hardly coughed, and he finally started sleeping again at night. The days after using Hyland was a piece of cake and I felt so much more confident managing my son’s cold. I am forever grateful and will forever by a loyal patron. Thank-you!!"

Works amazing

"My two year old has been waking up coughing last two nights from congestion. I went to store and found this and likes that it was homeopathic. I gave him his dose and literally 20 minutes later his coughing calmed down and he fell asleep. My son doesn't sleep easily either and this put him to sleep fast. Will recommend to everyone."

i can't find an experation date on the package or bottle of Hyland's cold'n cough
Although you might have products that do not have expiration dating those products are compliant with the FDA guidelines and you should feel confident in continuing to use them. However, if you notice a change in product appearance, you should replace it. Hyland’s has elected to start including expiration dating on all of our products although expiration dating is not a requirement on dietary supplements and homeopathic products.
